HSE Learning Community: How Midline Messaging Facilitates Whole Body Functioning

Our entire soma and all of its functions are based upon the intelligence that originally created the complex structures. Embryological messaging began through the midline, and the first structures to be developed were at the midline, spanning out from there (we can assume) in order of significance. These messengers, their pathways, and functions have been conserved throughout adulthood and have been shown to be epigenetic. They can reach into the nucleus of the cell and influence how genes express themselves. Movement is one of the key messengers and components of a healthy soma, present in every system at every level, from micro to macro layers. This talk will present why this is true and how the body can translate motion into the physiology and biochemistry that enable it to function and maintain homeostasis at the cellular level, balance at the musculoskeletal level, and well-being at the psycho-emotional level. We will include a few movements to help sense and free the midline.

This event is presented by the HSE Learning Community. It is open to all AHSE Members.
